Hunting South Dakota's State Bird, the ring-necked pheasant, is
an amazing hunting experience. Not only will the ring-necked pheasant amaze you with
their brilliant colors, but their intelligence as well. Pheasants that have made
it through a few hunting seasons will outsmart just about
everything but a good South Dakota pheasant hunting dog.
Our philosophy is to hunt wild pheasants only, but because of the
demand of hunters we have dedicated a portion of our hunting acres into
a pheasant hunting preserve
Not the traditional type of row crop pheasant hunting in eastern
South Dakota. We hunt in a mixture of CRP grasses and food plots. The
grass type of guided pheasant hunting is especially enjoyable for a good
hunting dog, excellent for pointers. The food plots provide the
row crop type of SD pheasant hunting, if this is the type you prefer
For the hunter's that enjoy working with their
dog with "wild" naturally raised birds, we maintain another farmstead
away from the preserve acres.
We also have an abundance of partridge in this area.
SD Pheasant Hunting dates:
Preserve Hunts: Sept 1 to March 31
Non-preserve hunts: Oct. 20 to Dec. 31
all hunts are guided pheasant hunts
